1979

Jim Anthony starts career with Grubb & Ellis Co in Sherman Oaks, CA. Wins industrial “rookie of the year” award in 1980

1981

Jim makes his first real estate investment, a closed rest stop in Castaic, CA.

1983

Jim moves to Raleigh, as Director of Leasing and Management with NAI Carolantic Realty. He buys his first industrial building in Garner.

1987

Jim founds Anthony & Co.

1990-1991

Company triples in size in two years as CRE markets collapse.

1998

Anthony & Co merges with Allenton Commercial in Durham; one of the oldest CRE brokerage firms in North Carolina.

2002

Anthony & Co affiliates with ONCOR International

1999-2008

Independent development company formed, AACRE Properties, and syndicates $350MM of new developments.

2010

Anthony & Co. joins Colliers International as the affiliate covering most of North Carolina.

2014

Anthony Property Group is formed, replacing AACRE Properties, resuming syndication of investments and development of land.

2019

Company relocates for the first time in 25 years, to 1201 Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh

2020

Jim chooses to run an independent shop again, rebranding to APG Advisors. Jim’s investment and development firm rebrands to APG Capital.

2022

Company expands, acquiring commercial projects in NC, SC, GA, TN and VA.

2023

APG Ventures is formed.

2024

APG Companies continue to grow into one of the largest CRE operations in the Southeast.
