On March 6^th, APG Companies had the opportunity to host a lunch and serve with Oak City Cares at our office. Our team gained valuable insight into Oak City Cares and their mission to support individuals experiencing homelessness in Wake County. Following the lunch, we came together for a meaningful, hands-on experience, packing over 140 Ziploc bags filled with handwritten notes and essential items, such as water bottles, granola bars and hygiene products, to be distributed to those in need.

Oak City Cares is a public-private partnership dedicated to helping Wake County residents who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As a central hub, they connect individuals and families with coordinated services to secure stable housing and provide renewed hope. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit unites partner organizations, medical providers and human service professionals to offer housing, employment and health support – all under one roof. Located in downtown Raleigh and accessible via the #21 bus, the Oak City Cares facility provides weekday amenities and weekend services. Their mission is to ensure that no one experiences homelessness and to make it rare, brief and non-recurring.
